Your Eleven Spectacles are more than sunglasses-they're a crafted investment. Like all luxury items, they deserve proper care.

What's Included

Your care kit includes a premium storage case, microfiber cloth (specially woven to clean without scratching), and lens cleaning spray (formulated for luxury lenses). These aren't generic-they're designed for your Eleven Spectacles.

How to Clean

What NOT to Use

Never Use:

• Paper towels or tissues - They contain abrasive fibers that scratch lens coatings
• Your shirt or sleeve - Dust and sand embedded in fabric will scratch the lenses
• Alcohol or solvents - They dissolve the protective lens coatings
• Hot water - Extreme heat damages coatings and frame adhesives
• Harsh soaps - Strong detergents can damage the hydrophobic coating
• Dry wiping - Always rinse first - wiping dry particles scratches lenses

Storage & Handling

Always use the provided storage case. It protects from scratches, impact, pressure, bending, and dust.

How to store:

1. Clean before storing
2. Ensure lenses are completely dry
3. Place with lenses facing the padding
4. Close gently (don't force)
5. Store in a cool, dry place (15-25°C, 30-50% humidity)

Avoid these locations:

• Car dashboard (heat and UV damage coatings)
• Near windows (direct sunlight degrades materials)
• Bathrooms (humidity and temperature fluctuations)
• Loose in bags (scratching and bending risk)
• Extreme temperatures (above 60°C damages adhesives)
• Damp environments (moisture causes delamination)

Material & Environment Care

Metal frames: Wipe dry after salt water or sweat exposure. Avoid prolonged water (corrosion risk). Store dry. Never expose to extreme heat.

Acetate frames: Keep away from direct heat. Avoid prolonged sun exposure when not wearing. Never leave in hot cars.

After saltwater: Rinse thoroughly under fresh water, dry gently with cloth, air dry completely (1-2 hours), store in open case.

After swimming: Don't wear sunglasses while swimming (they can be lost). Rinse immediately, clean with spray and cloth, air dry before storing.

After extreme heat: Let cool naturally (don't use cold water). Rinse gently under lukewarm water, clean, store in cool place. Contact us if you notice optical distortion.

Caring for Polarized Lenses

Polarized sunglasses require special attention to preserve their anti-glare properties and maintain optical quality.

DO:

• Rinse with lukewarm water before cleaning to remove dust and particles
• Use the provided microfiber cloth with gentle circular motions
• Apply the lens cleaning spray formulated for polarized coatings
• Store in a cool, dry place (15-25°C)
• Clean after exposure to salt water, chlorine, or sweat
• Use a protective case to prevent scratches that affect polarization
• Handle with both hands at all times

DON'T:

• Use paper towels, tissues, or clothing - these scratch the polarized coating
• Apply dry wiping-particles cause permanent scratches that reduce light reduction
• Expose to extreme heat or direct sunlight for extended periods
• Use alcohol, acetone, or other harsh solvents-they dissolve the polarizing layer
• Clean when wet with water droplets - wait for them to air dry naturally
• Leave wet after swimming-moisture degrades the polarized coating over time
• Store in humid environments like bathrooms - humidity breaks down the polarization layer

Why it matters: Scratches on polarized lenses don't just affect appearance - they reduce the polarization effectiveness. Even small scratches can diminish glare reduction and optical clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use regular eyeglass cleaning spray? No. The provided spray is specifically formulated for your lenses. Other sprays may contain alcohol or solvents that damage coatings.

What if I lose my microfiber cloth? Contact us at support@elevenspectacles.com and we'll send a replacement. Don't substitute-the microfiber is specially woven.

Can I wash in the dishwasher? No. Heat and detergents damage coatings and frame adhesives. Always hand-clean gently.

How often should I clean? Clean whenever dirty or dusty. Takes 30 seconds. Never let dust or fingerprints sit.

Can I wear daily? Yes, that's what they're designed for. Just follow care guidelines: clean regularly, store properly, handle gently.
